A Princess

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your heart as your trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and make you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

Ephesians 3:16-19

My freshmen year of high school I had only gotten through the year by focusing on achievement, like sports or academics. I was so weary and on the inside I was longing for deeper relationships than I could find around me. So I switched schools. I remember my Dad telling me the grass is not always greener on the other side. However, I made life long friends that year that helped me feel like I was flourishing again, when before I felt I was in a drought and alone before. I went from a huge public school to a small private Christian school. It was just what I needed, and the loneliness from the year before made me appreciate the connections even more with my new friends. Friends are such a gift. Some relationships seem so divine and really strengthen or refresh us.

If you know me you know how much I enjoy the whimsical and magical and beautiful. So it was quite absolutely wonderful that God’s plan would be that one of my closest friends and my one day maid of honor was named…..princess king. She looks like a princess too. And now she is married, to Symon Hajjar. So she is Princess Hajjar. If that doesn’t sound like a Disney character then what does? I will post a picture of her because I don’t think my description would do it justice. She understands me on some level that can’t be explained and she brings so much to my life that I could not bring myself.

At Princess’s Wedding
I said earlier I would do some whimsical post in October. I thought what a better one than to do it about a Princess! I think I dressed up twice as a princess for Halloween. Little girls love Princesses. I am reading in revelations now about crowns. “Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.” We have to hold on to the truth, we are all daughters of the most high King.

I know she might have hated having that name growing up…..but I love it, especially as I grow older.

This pic was taken at my bridal shower….the butterfly stickers were from a game I had to play there. Doesn’t Princess have a great smile?!!!!! Love her.

Some song lyrics from a song about the depth of God’s love….

By Waterdeep Big Enough to Hold Me

The space in my mind is too small for You
The space in my heart is too small for You too
And all of things of the earth that I know
Are too small for all of the greatness You’ve shown
But in all of this I’m still facing my needs
And I’m scared of how big they feel to me

I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You Lord, yeah You
Will carry me through

The space between stars is billions of miles
The space for the famous and millions of eyes
But not all of the stars in the Heavens and Earth
None can compare to Your infinite worth
And I still get lonely and wonder out loud
If anyone notices me in a crowd

I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You Lord, yeah You
Will carry me through

I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You, You
You are big enough to hold me
I know You Lord, yeah You
Will carry me through

How great, how high
How deep, how wide is Your love

The space in my mind is too small for You
The space in my heart is too small for You too
And all of things of the earth that I know
Are too small for all of the greatness You’ve shown
But in all of this I’m still facing my needs
And I’m scared of how big they feel to me

Nothing can separate from the love of Christ
All my doubts, He sees past and things to come
